Life Snapshot: June 2017
We traded spots with nessa the other night and I asked her to take some pictures of us. As we were clicking through the results, she said, "That's the most endearing Josh has ever looked."
We all laughed but I was thinking, he looks at me like this a lot more than people realize – and a lot more than any pictures would lead you to believe—we just don't leave the house enough for anyone to know it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Over the years, I've come to understand and even embrace some of Josh's ideas about social media. You can go out and do things and have fun without having to show everyone that you were having fun. Still, I've tried to find a balance between not sharing every minute but still sharing something. I’m a writer and a sharer at heart – it feels good to share things.
A moment like this, though we were fumbling and fidgeting and feeling very out of place trying to be ourselves in front of the camera, is something I do want to share. And though I vowed at the release of the 'share multiple photos' Instagram update that I'd never use it because it seemed tacky, I guess these photos of the-most-endearing-Josh are worthy of me breaking that vow. (I also wanted to showcase Nessa's iphone-7-ography + our ice cream eating skillz at the end without our dumb faces being the first thing people see on my instagram, ya know?)

Also, pro tip: when asking Nessa for a photo, keep the camera around your neck or set it down. She'll do much better with an iphone, and you won't have 30+ raw photos of your out-of-focus faces against a perfectly sharp concrete wall or sky. #justsayin
